JMC IT Moves for Cobbetts

National law firm, Cobbetts, has been assisted by JMC IT during its recent office relocation to its brand new premises at 58 Mosley Street, Manchester.

Cobbetts’ IT infrastructure is based in its Manchester office but also serves the Leeds, Birmingham and new London offices, therefore minimising disruption to ongoing operations across all three offices was vitally important to the success of the move. JMC provided Cobbetts with planning and implementation advice for the move, which included the relocation of 60 servers.

Tim Maxwell, Business Development Director at JMC, explains how the move worked, “Cobbetts works on a Citrix Server System, making the offices in Leeds and Birmingham completely reliant on the IT infrastructure in Manchester, which obviously adds difficulty when moving office. The first thing we did was transfer all underlying technologies, then a combination of JMC and Cobbetts IT staff moved all 60 servers to the new building over the weekend, thereby enabling staff to continue to work unabated, remotely from the old offices. Over the following two weekends Cobbetts’ IT team finished moving all staff IT equipment.”
