JMC defy the weather to deliver business as usual

Despite having to close our Riverside office on Tuesday due to the treacherous travelling conditions we have been offering the same high standards of support for our clients as we do when the office is open.

Thanks to a substantial investment in business continuity technology including Microsoft Office Communication Server, Cisco Unified Call Manager and Citrix Xen App, employees were sent home on Monday fully prepared to login remotely on Tuesday morning and do business as usual – albeit from home.

With minor improvements to the roads on Wednesday a team of just four people managed to get into our Riverside offices, with managing director, and avid mountain biker, Andrew Burgess cycling twelve miles cross-country to avoid the chaos of the roads, to make the building safe for further employees to arrive as and when the conditions allow.

Andrew commented: “It is great to see our comprehensive plans put into practice and work so well.  Yes it will be great to get people back in the office but in the meantime at least we are able to continue to deliver excellent support without risking employee safety.”

JMC has also implemented similar technologies with a number of its clients to ensure that, should access to their office be hindered, they can still operate their phone systems, access their network and data and operate as usual in the eyes of their clients and suppliers.

A perfect example of our technology in action has been witnessed this week at one of our large Housing Association clients.  Having worked with us to prepare for unexpected situations they have been able to operate as normal over the last week - something that is vital for any Housing Association.  Our client’s team continued to access their systems securely, with minimal disruption and stress for both them and their tenants.  Having seen their technology really put to the test the client is already looking to extend its business continuity plans further to ensure that even more of its hundreds of users can work uninterrupted should a disruption of this scale happen again.
